I find myself at something of a loss for words to express how sad I feel about Sid - thank you for letting us know, although it was news that I know no-one wanted to hear. She was always so cheerful and witty, a post from Sid was always a joy to read and entirely apropos (even if it all it was was a sly winky-face!)and her writing - Oh! Her writing!! Sid could write full on graphic slash and yet do it is in such as was as to make it feel utterly canon, and it is a testament to her skill as a writer that I never once had to suspend my disbelief in the world she created - it was always entirely believable, and always so beautifully expressed too. I can't actually get my head around the fact that she is no longer here to comment.

Rest in Peace Sid: you are Safe in the Harbor at last, and so very, very, much missed here...

Sharpie - if you are looking for a Rec of the Week, anything by Sid would do, but she is perhaps most famous for her Advent Calendar's 'Sophie's Sekrit Slasher' serial - it is so very Sid: slashy, funny and yet so very tender and loving too

*nods*
I have been avoiding replying to the news for days and days, as if not commenting would somehow make it not true. She was such fun, and such a sweet kind person too, and part of the Read for so many years -- what is the point of a double entendre with no Sid to laugh at it and fling a better one back?

Thank you for the news, unwelcome as it is. I just cannot... She had been so positive after surgery and was planning her excercises to get better use of her shoulder. I'd seen the post on lj some time ago, but I had always hoped it would go away.

My she sail in ever-pleasant waters.
