I would like to recommend that people take a peek at the_comfortable_courtesan, a rather wonderful journal by oursin which purports to be a journal kept by a courtesan in the early nineteenth century. It is highly amusing and beautifully written and observed, as well as (so far!) being updated every day.

Being as it's Christmas, I have two recs for you. :D
