From the Vickery Family Papers, Letter 14 bysharpiefan; Show the Colours; G; John Vickery; Continuing the correspondence from the papers of the Vickery family, between Captain John Vickery of the 5/60th and members of his family.
Jetsam byjustincase; Aubreyad; PG-13; HMS Surprise (personification); She had known for some time she was to be broken; she’d felt it from her captain’s actions. He was sad, and he could tell no one. She wanted to comfort him, as she always had when he and she were younger.
Flotsam byjustincase; Aubreyad; PG-13; Jack, Stephen, Sophie; Heneage Dundas, Pullings, Babington, Richardson; so many others in the street. Stephen had stood close to him there in the stock; Jack knew he was speaking to him, but it all seemed dreamlike; he’d distanced himself from that reality. That ordeal was now behind him and yet Jack still felt something ominous, not unlike a lee shore in the darkness of the moon.
